Grove Place

Grove Place

Southampton, United Kingdom

A Sunday in the country

Elegant and understated, the manor house stands picturesquely in the open English countryside, in the middle of grounds covering 16 hectares. Dating from the 16th century and a Grade I listed building, its refined decor has been completely renovated and all its rooms refitted: reception rooms with ornate fireplaces now provide dining rooms, libraries and bridge rooms, while the surrounding village and school have been converted into houses, apartments and shops with high-tech conveniences and domestic appliances throughout. A few new buildings have also been built to house sports facilities and a treatment centre.

This dolls' village, with its character so beautifully preserved, is now enjoying a second lease of life and its new residents can breathe in the calm and serenity of an enchanting setting.

The region

A haven of peace. The site is located in the county of Hampshire, known for the beauty of its countryside celebrated by the author Jane Austen, with the port of Southampton as its centre and source of vitality.
